About
About Golden Hour Finder
Golden Hour Finder helps photographers and skywatchers plan around the best light. It shows the morning and evening golden hour and blue hour, sunrise, sunset, the full range of twilight, and the moon’s phase, rise and set — with the compass directions you need to line up a shot.
Everything is computed in your browser from established astronomical algorithms, so it works instantly and for anywhere on Earth. We care about getting the numbers right: the engine is unit-tested against fixed astronomical events, and the methodology page is open about exactly how each window is defined and where the limits are.
Who’s behind it
Golden Hour Finder is built and maintained by a photographer who got tired of guessing when the light would be good. (Site owner: add your name, experience and a portfolio link here.)
