Informational use only

Golden Hour Finder provides golden hour, blue hour, sunrise, sunset, twilight and moon times for photography and general planning. All times are computed estimates for an idealized flat, sea-level horizon and are provided for informational purposes only. Local terrain, elevation, weather and atmospheric conditions can shift the real times by minutes or more. Do not rely on these times for any safety-, navigation-, aviation-, marine- or legally-critical decision. Verify critical timings on location.

No warranty

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Golden Hour Finder is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its data.

Data sources & method

Sun and moon times are calculated in your browser from established astronomical algorithms via the open-source suncalc library, with timezone handling by Luxon; satellite pass predictions use publicly published orbital elements (e.g. Celestrak). The methodology page explains exactly how each window is defined and where the limits are. These calculations are not affiliated with or endorsed by any official timekeeping or government body.

Acceptable use

You may use the site for personal and commercial photography planning. Please don’t attempt to disrupt the service, scrape it at a volume that degrades it for others, misrepresent its data as official, or reuse the content in a way that infringes our or others’ rights. A documented JSON data endpoint is offered per city for reasonable, good-faith programmatic use.
